Growing up Japanese Canadian, I was raised in a mesh of two cultures. My brothers and I were very fortunate to have a strong tie to our family back in Japan, and annually they would send boxes filled with toys, games, stationery, and more. There were many fights over the contents of the box, but nonetheless we knew it was special. That excitement and mystery contained in a small box was where the passion for Strawberry Boots was born. At first it was the food and the shopping that caught my attention in Tokyo. A faraway magical world with new sounds, more people I looked like, and a language I kinda understood. But as I grew up I was drawn to the old traditions, that came from my grandparents and ancestors. The beauty in the Japanese culture, their attention to detail, and just how they lived their daily lives.

Fast forward ten years and there was not many ways to access imported Japanese products, and so our online shop launched (2017). Not soon after we participated in a market, were offered a pop-up space, which now has been our home for 6 years.

Strawberry Boots seeks artists/vendors from Japan, Canada, US, France, & the UK. We are always thriving for unique and good quality products, that bring a fun shopping experience to our customers. We hope our small shop can bring a smile to you, bringing a tiny bit of that faraway magic a bit closer to you. Our lovely staff will greet you and help you as though you are family.
